In 2018 there have been plenty of mystifying yet viral wedding trends, including but certainly not limited to, avocado proposals and engagement piercings. Brides are often looking for a way to stand out on their wedding day and this latest trend might be one of the most extra yet. Now hair style.
According to, well, the internet, some brides are going one step further with their second look at their wedding and getting a whole new hair cut in between the ceremony and reception. While it’s not uncommon for brides to change their gown for their evening reception, would you consider getting a fresh hair cut to boot?
Refinery29 tracked down at least two brides who have tried the trend and also spoke to two hair stylists who have been called on to perform a mid-wedding chop. “More than half my brides cut off their hair immediately after their wedding,” one hair stylist, AJ Palace, told Refinery29 about performing the swift change-up for her own sister. “If you're planning on cutting your hair after the wedding — why not just do it at the wedding, and make it the coolest second-look reveal?”
All new hairstyle
Not only is a dramatic change sure to amaze your guests but it also provides the opportunity to match your new hair cut with your second look, often a party dress, which brides already try to do by changing up their hairstyle. So why not just completely overhaul your look?
The only problem we can foresee is that you definitely want to have a trusted hair stylist on board. To truly surprise guests, the change has to be swift, but you also want it to look good, or you might never make it to your own wedding reception.
